Dear all,
On 28th May 2016, I am organizing a workshop on behalf of the Financial Mathematics, Operations Research and Statistics (FORS) group at Brunel on “Current challenges in the practice of quantitative finance and risk management”. This is fourth in the series of our popular Saturday workshops related to financial mathematics. All the talks in this forthcoming workshop are given by experienced practitioners in finance, risk management and financial technology. To academics and postgraduate (Masters/ PhD) students attending, the workshop will provide an insight into some of the challenges which quantitative analysts and risk management professionals are facing currently. For both students and academics alike, this interaction will offer an opportunity to define and scope out industry-relevant research problems driven by practitioner needs. For practitioners, this is an opportunity to meet fellow professionals from other firms for sharing thoughts on new fintech developments, new pricing methodologies and new/old gripes about differing risk management regulations across different countries.
A draft programme of the workshop can be found at http://people.brunel.ac.uk/~mastpmd/AFM4.pdf . Registration, including lunch, is free. For catering purposes, please email [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] with your name, title and organization (subject: 'workshop registration'). Please forward to any doctoral or MSc students who might be interested.
Regards,
Paresh
