A PhD position is available immediately in a German-French project on the
Control of Open Quantum Systems, to be jointly supervised by Christiane
Koch at the University of Kassel
http://www.uni-kassel.de/fb10/en/institute/physics/research-groups/quantum-dynamics-and-control/
and Dominique Sugny at the University of Burgundy in Dijon
http://icb.u-bourgogne.fr/en/members/permanent-staff/164-teacher-researcher/354-dominique-sugny-version-anglaise.html
The project is dedicated to deepening our understanding of the
interrelation of non-Markovian dynamics and quantum control and is funded
by DFG and ANR. The prospective student will spend about 50% of the
overall time in Kassel and 50% in Dijon. A MSc degree in theoretical
physics or theoretical chemistry is required, and familiarity with the
theory of open quantum systems would be helpful. For further information
