Dear Colleagues,
The Manchester Distance Learning Network (MaDLeN) are please to invite you to their next webinar.
NEARPOD - going beyond the classroom
April 20th 2016 at 1pm (British Summer Time)
This Webinar will be hosted by three Nearpod Pionears, each providing examples of how they have used Nearpod - going beyond the classroom.
Ian Miller (eLearning Manager at The University of Manchester, UK) will provide an overview of Nearpod and provide examples of it’s use at the university.
Courtney Kofeldt (Technology Coordinator at PA Leadership Virtual Charter School, USA) will discuss how she and her colleagues have used the embedded homework Nearpod presentations in their daily posted lessons via Moodle and Canvas. The data from the homework session helps them plan their live lessons (virtual lessons). Virtual lessons often see the teachers using Nearpod presentations with live pins and sharing their screens in their Zoom web conferencing rooms.
Jennifer Williams (Global Programmes Developer at Calliope Global Education Initiatives, USA) had a great experience last year when using Nearpod in a guest lecture with students in Germany at the University of Augsburg. Subsequently, the professor and Jenny blogged about it on the Nearpod site: http://blog.nearpod.com/globally-connected-education-nearpod/
You will be sent the link for the webinar approximately two days beforehand, along with any instructions to access the webinar. You must be registered to receive this information.
