Early Bird discounts end this Friday<http://bit.ly/conf16j4> for the CILIP Conference (12-13 July, Brighton).
If you've yet to register your place, here is a reminder of some of the benefits of attending the UK's largest gathering of library, knowledge and information professionals and what it has to offer.
The Conference will:
- Inspire with keynote speakers who discuss the important role that libraries play in times of crisis, the social and economic value of data and information and the power of the written word to promote health and wellbeing
- Broaden your knowledge of the work of practitioners in the different sectors of the library and information community
- Share information and experiences from 42 sessions speakers on topics as diverse as data stewardship, public sector partnerships, recognising information risks, developing literacies, engaging non-traditional users, measuring digital engagement and the secret online lives of teenagers
- Update your professional skills base and contribute around 14 hours of CPD activities for CILIP revalidation
- Help with your professional development and approach to advocacy within the workplace and profession through a series of workshops and presentations
- Provide opportunities for networking including a drinks reception on the Brighton Pier (includes free rides!)
- Inspire and inform on day-to-day issues so that you return to your organisations with practical advice and ideas you can implement.
The Fringe programme allows delegates to further explore some of the conference themes and, as we get closer we will be adding more activities, sessions and competitions to the website.
