Property Advisor – Location Planning Competitor Analysis

We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Property Advisor – Location Planning Competitor Analysis to join the Property team at Hilmore House, Bradford. Reporting to the Location Planning Analysis Manager, you will undertake detailed and robust research into grocery competition activity on a daily basis and provide regular strategic reports to the wider business to ensure stores are being supported with the relevant defensive activity. Support the location team by providing timely and accurate data. Provide admin, planning and ad hoc spatial analysis, where appropriate, to support the regular forecasting projects and also strategic ad hoc projects when required.
Here at Morrisons our Property Advisor – Location Planning Competitor Analysis do the following;
• Provide competitor information and data to inform network strategy and ensure store developments are appropriate to local customers, and ensure the strategy is a live document
• Assist Location Planning team with robust analysis of Match and More customer data to inform strategic decisions both within Property and the wider business.
• Support more senior members of Location Planning team and wider property team by providing regular data and analysis.
• Help to deliver competitor insight that visibly impacts upon strategic decisions within Property and the wider business i.e. Defensive plans to counteract new competitor openings
• Update the internal competitor database using future store planning updates and other available sources of information to ensure all analysis in the Location Planning team is based on accurate information.
• Be a functional expert in the planning process and competitor new store development strategies.
• Support the store and impact sales forecasting process by producing data, maps, reports and other material leading to more accurate sales forecasting
What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful Property Advisor – Location Planning Competitor Analysis?
• Understanding of UK planning process
• Knowledge of competitor store formats and size measurements
• Intermediate proficiency in using Excel. GIS experience is preferable, as is an understanding of MS Access
• The tenacity to research information leads until completely satisfied that competitor information is correct.
• Strong logical thinking, strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Geography or closely related qualification is desirable.
• Proven experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders on the telephone.
• Proven experience in data management
