Dear colleagues,
You and your students are warmly invited to join us for this event with
Gretchen Dutschke Klotz in Cambridge:
"Germany, 1968 – Does it (still) matter?"
In 1964, theology student and US citizen Gretchen Klotz visited West
Berlin and fell in love. In 1966, she married the prominent German
student leader Rudi Dutschke and moved to West Berlin. After an
assassination attempt in April 1968 left him severely injured, the
Dutschkes were forced into exile. Since her husband’s death in 1979,
Gretchen Dutschke Klotz has published several books and articles about
his life. Her new book focuses on 1968.
At 5pm on 11 May, she will give a fascinating overview of the
anti-authoritarian movement in West Germany, and discuss its relevance
today. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session and a wine reception.
The event will take place in the Webb Library at Jesus College,
Cambridge.
This is a free event, but booking is essential. To register online, go
