1 PhD student position at the Center for Behavioral Brain Sciences, Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, Germany
Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD student position (three years) in the field of reinforcement learning and decision making in the Cognitive Neuroscience research group headed by Dr Gerhard Jocham at the Centre for Behavioral Brain Sciences, Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg. The position is funded by the European Union and the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt.
With several research-dedicated 3T and one 7T MRI scanners, MEG and EEG laboratories, a combined MRI-PET facility, and a large community of researchers, Magdeburg offers an outstanding and stimulating environment for cognitive neuroscience. Being embedded in the local neuroscience community, you will additionally benefit from the interactions with other leading experts in the departments of medicine, psychology and the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology.
For the position, a strong interest in reinforcement learning and decision making is important. You will have an MSc or equivalent degree (or be currently working towards one) in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. The ideal candidate should also possess computer programming skills, Matlab in particular. You will be thorough, efficient, a good communicator and enjoy both working independently and as part of a dynamic team.
