Hello Critters,
Over the past two years I've posted a handful of times about the campaign to make London the world's first National Park City.
http://www.nationalparkcity.london/
The initiative has serious traction, with support from key mayoral candidates... but we need to give the campaign a boost and I am hoping that you may be willing to help. To make the campaign a success we need the support of elected councillors across London. So far 180 ward teams have already given their support - but we need 256 more... See http://www.nationalparkcity.london/ward_support.
To do this, we've drafted an open letter that will be sent to elected councillors across London who are yet to support the campaign that will be signed by a number of related experts... and I'd love to make sure there are a good number of geographers!
You do not have to be in London to support this letter. Expertise and interests in related themes is vital. This could be health, participation, conservation, education, fieldwork, planning, gender, pollution, design, ecology, landscape, national parks, cities etc.
Will Self, Catherine Nash, Wayne Hemingway, Judy Ling Wong, Anson Mackay and George Monbiot are a few of the people who have already signed up.
If you would like to support the campaign please email me directly to [log in to unmask]
Very many thanks for your time.
