Hi Alex,
for me, the easy way has been "Coot From Scratch"
http://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/personal/pemsley/coot/web/build-install-coot-from-scratch.html
that allow me install very easy the latest Coot versions in my different
versions of opensuse (11.0 kernel 2.6 and so on)
just download the script and execute it. It will download all the
necessary files and do all the necessary
