Sadly, this seems less and less to be the case. Most graduate students, especially the advanced ones, wouldn’t touch a literary text with a barge pole. Nowadays it’s all comic books, digital humanities, and “thing theory”.
(yes, I exaggerate, a little, but the interest in and teaching of poetry—of any kind—is greatly diminished).
