Do you like your mobile phone's voice-enabled digital assistant? Or do you
hate her / him / it? Do you want to know more about how it works? If yes,
then consider registering for the CHI 2016 Course: "Speech-based
Interaction: Myths, Challenges, and Opportunities" (yes, there are spaces
still available!) For the sixth consecutive year at CHI, we will debunk
myths surrounding voice interfaces, demystify how speech recognition and
synthesis work, and challenge interaction designers and researchers to
explore how speech can enhance existing and future interaction paradigms.
For course details, see online at
http://cosmin.taglab.ca/speech_tutorial/chi2016speech.pdf
To register go to https://chi2016.acm.org/wp/registration/ and add course
#23 to your registration
(course fees are just $25 and can be added any time). The course is
scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, from 9am to 12:40pm.
Looking forward to seeing many of you in San Jose!
