2.5 ALT Symposium - Learning Technology in Further and Higher Education, London, 16 May 2016 9:00 to 13:00
The context for the symposium are the major changes facing us across sectors, from area based reviews and development of apprenticeships in the Further Education system to how we demonstrate excellence in teaching and research in Higher Education. The key question we will be exploring is how policy and organisational culture can enable effective innovation in Learning Technology, innovation that goes beyond small pilots or islands of best practice. We will critically consider what common challenges (some concrete, here-and-now, some less tangible at present) we face, and how Learning Technology can help meet them.

4.2 Digital is not the future - an LSE/UAL online hack
Dave White of UAL and Peter Bryant of the LSE have been working on developing an online hack to discuss how we as a sector can overcome the issues and tensions around technology and the institution. We have provocatively called it ‘Digital is not the future’ (that already happened). We are running an online hack for the next two weeks through Loomio and invite you and all your staff to participate. This is an unique opportunity to shape the dialogue, crowdsource a solution and contribute to a different future. #futurehappens.
