This is an exciting opportunity to join the high profile Cloudy with a Chance of Pain study team as a Research Associate.
Cloudy With a Chance of Pain is a large population smartphone study and citizen science experiment to investigate the association between weather and symptoms in people with arthritis and other chronic pain. The project is highly inter-disciplinary including representation from epidemiology, eHealth, meteorology, medical sociology, patient and public involvement, biostatistics, and two partner companies (uMotif and the Office for Creative Research). The project has been featured on BBC2's 'Trust Me I'm a Doctor', BBC Breakfast and ITV news, across BBC local radio and in the national press. Cloudy With a Chance of Pain is partnered with the European City of Science 2016 in Manchester.
A Research Associate statistician is sought to lead the analysis of the association between weather conditions and disease symptoms, as well as analysing the association between passively-monitored physical activity and disease symptoms.
The post is advertised as 0.5 FTE for 15 months but we would be happy to consider other working patterns.
