Dear All,
I'm starting from a very low understanding of the potential to establish a run a crowdsourcing project, however it may be the answer to my digitisation project which will require multiple volunteers looking at images and creating relevant descriptions and metadata (for which there is a great many, potentially 100,000).
I would prefer a system that only allows vetted volunteers to contributed (password protected access). I am keen to hear from (or speak to) museum or archives professional that have completed similar crowdsourcing projects, particularly from the local government sector, as our security protocols are far higher and therefore may be limiting.
I'd also like to hear from web-designers (or receive recommendations of designers) who have created appropriate websites that facilitate password protect crowdsourcing projects and the documentation of images.
Any advice or signposted to example case studies would be most welcome at this early stage of consideration. Happy to be contacted outside the listserv if preferable.
Kind regards
Tahlia Coombs
