Afternoon,
Does anyone else have an older functioning integration between Aspire and Moodle enabled in their version of Moodle - that is NOT the "official" LTI integration recently released by Talis?
I refer to the document attached along with this post on this list a few years back:
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=ind1211&L=LIS-TALIS-ASPIRE&D=0&P=4722
which I think is what LSE have enabled in Moodle, which predates my starting work here.
The difficulty with this seems to be that it creates deep links to sections or items. Even though it is providing the option to link to a resource, and the link between the Moodle site and its' equivalent TARL list is based on the module / course code in the TARL hierarchy, the linked URL that it is creating in Moodle is static.
If this is the case, doing a rollover would create new opaque IDs for all lists, and items, and section links; hence resulting in a huge amount of broken links in Moodle.
Has anyone else gone down this road? Or used a similar bespoke / hacked integration between the two? If so, how do you do rollovers in TARL, and what is the impact on those links in Moodle generated by your integration?
Tim Hodson if you are out there maybe you could advise?
Any sharing of experience or guidance on what to do would be most welcome...
Regards,
Kevin
