A successful applicant at Senior Lecturer/Reader Level (roughly equivalent to Associate Professor) will have an
outstanding track record of independent research of international standing. At Lecturer level
(roughly equivalent to Assistant Professor), a successful applicant will have shown exceptional potential for
achieving such research excellence.
The appointee will be expected to sustain a leading research programme, and to be active in developing and
submitting competitive applications for external funding. Candidates should also have a strong interest in
pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and in supervising graduate students.
