The University of Dundee is offering 10 EPSRC funded PhD positions in a wide range of interdisciplinary topic areas spanning physical, mathematical, computer and engineering science, but also in areas such as biological and medical science. The interdisciplinary aspect means that students will work on highly challenging problems and have significant opportunity to develop new and valuable skills.
A number of projects make use of the biomolecular and/or multiscale modelling and simulation methods to address important questions in biology, e.g.
Protein dynamics in enzyme catalysis: Computational studies of mRNA capping enzymes https://www.findaphd.com/search/ProjectDetails.aspx?PJID=72472
Modelling physical processes in early stages of embryonic development https://www.findaphd.com/search/ProjectDetails.aspx?PJID=72482
Modelling Cell Differentiation in Bacterial Biofilms https://www.findaphd.com/search/ProjectDetails.aspx?PJID=72399
Full descriptions of all offered projects can be found at

Interested candidates should directly contact the potential supervisors for information on specific projects.
The studentships cover fees and stipends for 3.5 years of study.
Deadline for application: 25th March
Studentship Expected Start Date: September/October 2016
