Hello
We've recently reviewed how we sell prints and licence images.
Our workflow is any object images created for exhibitions, publications, publicity or even simply to sell are listed in the Collections Management System. We can then select and send image files with relevant data to our print on demand and licenced images provider who is Bridgeman.
I hope in future to have a direct link from the CMS to the websites but it's FTP at present.
We also sell and licence images when approached directly and have a list of charges on our own and our local authority's websites.
With selling prints in the museum we have a selection of samples from our print on demand site and use them as to promote sales. Since doing this sales have risen. We also plug the print on demand site alongside our own art collection in the museum.
We have a new shop opening soon and looked at selling prints. At the present we may simply set up an iPad to allow online browsing in the shop and raise awareness of the service. Building in ordering may happen later.
Postcards are a consistent seller in our existing shop and we'll continue with them.
Regards
Rick
