Hi
You could try the University of Lincoln - they have the technology within their architecture department - Collection at Lincolnshire have been involved with 3d scanning too - see http://lincoln3dscans.co.uk/

Hi,
On a related subject to the post a while back about 3D scanning, can anyone point me in the direction of a university department, museum or other organisation who are able to 3D scan and print archaeological artefacts.
I'm interested in having an internationally significant artefact scanned and 3D printed. If I'm able to get this done free as a collaboration all the better, but I'd also be keen to know whose doing it and the cost involved. Additionally if anyone knows of funding streams that might pay for such work, I'd be very grateful.
Best wishes,
Peter

Hi all,
3D scanning and printing in museums is taking off fast. For my doctoral research I am looking at the creative ways in which 3D scans are being used.
We recently undertook a small case study during which we shared 3D models from the National Museum Cardiff with artists (see http://immaterialartefacts.blogspot.co.uk/ ). Another project which might be interesting in this context is the Lincoln3D Scan project (http://lincoln3dscans.co.uk/).
Cheers, Sarah
