Dear Colleagues,
We’re pleased to share the news that Altmetric have launched an annual research grant of up to £1,500 to encourage advancement in the understanding of alternative research metrics (altmetrics) amongst the wider scholarly community. The grant will support research projects that would not otherwise receive the necessary funding, and is open globally to academics, researchers and librarians interested in doing research in the altmetrics space.
Applications can be submitted between now and 11pm on 15th April 2016. A detailed submission guide and template is available on the Altmetric website at http://bit.ly/1QzOuW1. All submissions will be reviewed by an expert panel (http://bit.ly/1W5ryQ5) and the grantees will be announced on the 4th May 2016.
The aim of the grant is to fund research that demonstrates a high level of understanding of altmetrics and advances the development of indicators for social, policy, educational or non-traditional scholarly impact. Once complete, the results from the research will be made publicly available.
Full details can be found on the Altmetric website: http://bit.ly/1QzOuW1
Kind regards,
Catherine Williams
