Information Science Scotland, the partnership of the four Scottish universities that support research students within the ESRC Scottish Graduate School of Social Science Information Science Pathway (Edinburgh Napier, Glasgow, Strathclyde, and Robert Gordon), is hosting a two-day training event in Edinburgh on April 12th and 13th 2016. The event is being run in collaboration with two leading academics from the Department of Archive and Library Science at Ionian University, Corfu in Greece: Dr Petros Kostagiolasand Dr Christina Banou.
The sessions will be of interest to research students in Information Science and related disciplines who are keen develop their expertise in: the development and application of research frameworks; research impact and evaluation; conducting research in organisational contexts; techniques for research in information retrieval and archives; and publishing. The two-day programme has been designed to include interactive workshops and opportunities for networking, including a drinks reception at the end of the first day. The event is suitable for doctoral students at all stages of their studies.
It is offered free of charge to all PhD students registered at Scottish universities. Students from elsewhere may apply for a place for which a fee to cover costs will be charged.
