Dear all,
Please find the details of a workshop on the Protection of Migrant Children’s Rights in Greece, France and in the UK: Challenges and Responses organised by the University of Exeter (Law School and Geography Department) in collaboration with the Refugee Law Initiative, School of Advanced Study, University of London.
This one-day workshop will take place in London, on the 4th July 2016 – at Senate House.
This workshop aims to provide a forum of knowledge exchange between academics, practitioners and activists interested in how the protection of migrant children is organised in the UK, France and Greece. It is an opportunity to discuss the lack of a coherent European response to the migration crisis and how this affects the reception and care of migrant children in these countries.
This timely workshop also aims at serving as a space where good practice can be exchanged. Accordingly, participants will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the discussions throughout the day.
We are delighted to announce that the keynote address at the workshop will be given by Frances Webber, Vice-chair of the Institute of Race Relations Council of Management and former barrister specialised in immigration, refugee and human rights law.
A key output of the seminar will be a transcript of its proceedings and key findings which will be distributed to the participants via email after the workshop.
Participation is free of charge but due to the limited number of places available, an advance registration is required.
