National legislation and policy mapping on internal displacement
Read the report: http://www.internal-displacement.org/law-and-policy
Dear colleague,
On behalf of the Global Protection Cluster - Task Team on Law and Policy, IDMC is pleased to present "IDP Laws and Policies: A mapping tool", the global database on normative instruments on internal displacement.
This new global platform aims to provide information on existing laws and policies adopted by single countries with a view to regulating prevention and response to displacement. In addition, it looks at normative processes geared towards the adoption of similar instruments and at other policies and legislation enacted in areas of relevance to IDP protection. A special focus is reserved to the endorsement of regional instruments like the Kampala Convention and the Great Lakes Pact.
The Task Team hopes that this repository may help research on this theme and foster further development of regional and national frameworks on internal displacement. We look forward to collaborating with all the relevant institutions and civil society organisations dedicated to IDP law and policy to broaden the scope of our analysis and to keep this compilation up-to-date.
Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
