The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is hiring two Trainees to be based in our office in Shire, Tigray region of Ethiopia.
DRC is in the process of starting a new program in Tigray, where DRC anticipates implementing a variety of migration-related and youth protection activities in Hitsats, Shimelba, Mai-Aini and Adharush refugee camps - camps that currently host a combined population of over 30,000 Eritrean refugees. To support the new program, DRC is recruiting two Trainees - one to join the program immediately and the other to join in June 2016. The Shire-based Trainees will work directly with the Area Manager to support the overall implementation and strategic direction of the organization's current and future projects in Tigray regional state. She or he will provide daily support in the areas of project cycle management, proposal development, and monitoring and evaluation, with opportunities to focus on specific programmatic themes such as protection, mixed migration, youth engagement and education.
DRC is looking for someone seeking entry into work with refugees, migrants, and humanitarian aid, or who believes that a deployment to the field would support their academic or research work. This includes current graduate students working towards an advanced degree in refugee/migration issues, humanitarian response, international development, law, social sciences, or education.
