Hello Women in Recorded Sound,
We'd like to start a collective of women in the field of recorded sound preservation. As working professionals and enthusiasts in this field, we realized that having a supportive community of women with similar experience could be of great value. The purpose of this informal collective is to empower and provide support to women working with or having a general interest in recorded sound, to provide networking opportunities, to offer a platform for the free exchange of ideas/information, and to gather together socially.
We are planning a kickoff meeting, which will likely be a dinner or social gathering one evening at this year's Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) conference this May in Bloomington, Indiana.
This will be a great opportunity to meet and connect with colleagues from across the country and the world.
If any of this sounds of interest to you, let us know by filling out this short Google form: http://goo.gl/forms/8BiyMdNXG4 by Friday, April 8 so that we can gauge interest in the collective and in our initial gathering.
Looking forward to connecting with you soon.
