We have an exciting opportunity at Wolverhampton Arts and Heritage service for freelance educators to work across our four popular venues; Wolverhampton Art Gallery, City Archives, Bantock House and Bilston Craft Gallery.
We are looking to increase our pool of arts and heritage learning freelance staff to deliver workshops to schools, families and young people. You'll need experience of delivering gallery and museum tours and workshops, have a good knowledge of the school curriculum, practical and creative skills, and a broad understanding of history.
You will be required to deliver sessions inspired by our world-class collections and temporary exhibitions and to devise and deliver creative arts and crafts activities including teaching basic skills in drawing, painting, sculpture and printing. Experience of working with archives material will also be advantageous.
You must be punctual, reliable, pro-active with a 'can-do' attitude. You'll also have previous experience of delivering gallery and museum sessions for children and young people. You should have a degree in a relevant subject such as art, design and/or history, and a teaching qualification is desirable.
Freelancers work on a casual basis and are booked in advance on either a full or half day basis and paid at an hourly rate of £25 an hour.
All freelancers must be registered self-employed with a UTR number (Unique Tax Reference Number), and an up-to-date DBS certificate (previous CRB – criminal records check).
