Dear list,
Do any colleagues have experience of their premises being transferred from their parent body to a new landlord? We’re looking for guidance on best practice for the process, and watertight wordings that safeguard collections and services when the new landlord may not be fully informed of an archives service’s needs and standards.
Our situation is that we understand our local authority is in the process of drafting a lease for the building we occupy - which is presently freehold to the council and has been directly managed by them - with a view to letting it to a social enterprise organisation whose principal functions is running gyms and swimming pools; so we will be their tenants.
Many thanks
Len Reilly
