Hello Sharon
We would report as an early completer.
Using SITS we have a TUP that runs when SPR is updated for a Tier 4 student (vis in use) which flags to the Team that there is a change to either the students expected end date or enrolment status. We would then investigate and diarise for early reporting where a student is due to complete before their programme end date as detailed on their CAS.
We also have an Impromptu report that is ran following each awards round where we identify where a Tier 4 visa is in use and students enrolment status is SCOM (successful completion). As the report brings in VIS data we can identify those students whose visa expiry data is in the future and who needs to be reported to the Home Office as an early completer.
Come back to me if you have any questions.
Regards,
Claire

Subject: Tier 4 Early Completions
Hi,
I've tried to find information on the above but have drawn a blank. I would be grateful if you could tell me how you deal with Tier 4 students who entered the institution on a 4 year course (e.g. on an undergraduate masters) but they decided to transfer to a 3 year course and complete early. Their CAS would obviously have an end date a year later. We are being told that even though we would report a course transfer and provide the new end date this is not enough and that we now also have to report them as early completions at the point they leave. If this is something only we have missed please let me know how you pick up someone who had a course transfer in their 1st year as an early leaver at least 2 years later. Obviously I don't want to have to check every graduate who was on a 3 year course
I would be really grateful for any input on this one.
regards
Sharon Miles
