Dear All,
It is with great pleasure that the Socialist and Critical Geography Specialty Group invites AAG attendees in San Francisco to the James Blaut Memorial Award Lecture. This year’s lecture will be held on Wednesday, 3/30/2016, from 1:20 PM - 3:00 PM in Continental 9, Hilton Hotel, Ballroom Level, and will be delivered by Paul Routledge, this year’s recipient of the James Blaut Award.
Professor Routledge will be presenting his talk entitled: Climate Games: Under the Cobblestones, the Beach.
In this talk, he looks at recent Climate Justice mobilisations in Paris to interrogate the work of Jacques Ranciere and Chantal Mouffe on the political. In these times of austerity, precarity and exception he argues for a spatial politics of intervention across multiple nodes of power.
Please join us for what should prove to be a fascinating talk.
In Solidarity,
Ron J Smith
