This will be relevant mainly for people in the United Kingdom and Europe.
I've recently secured funding from the Economic and Social Research
Council for a three-year, full-time PhD studentship. The working title
of the PhD is: Dialect levelling in Cardiff – Past, Present and
Future, and the work will draw on variationist sociolinguistics
methodologies. The deadline for applications is 9th May, and further
details can be seen at http://courses.cardiff.ac.uk/funding/R2730.html
. Please pass this information on to anyone who might be interested in
applying for the scholarship and have them get in touch with me
