Friday 26 February 2016 10am - 3pm
Location: Cavendish Room, Hamilton Centre, Brunel University London
Money really does matter As we grow older, it often becomes more difficult to manage complex money matters. This conference will explore what is known about how best to assess financial capacity, how older people manage their household finances and how much is known about financial abuse. Invited delegates will hear about the latest research in the United States on assessment of financial capacity from the keynote speaker, Prof Peter Lichtenberg. The new director of MICRA, Prof Debora Price, will outline her interesting findings from research on how household finances are managed by older people in the UK. Finally, Dr Gillian Dalley and Prof Mary Gilhooly will describe some of their findings from a major programme of research on financial abuse.
