Hello
When I saw the specimen I thought that I have already seen it previously on a blog of Dr Mark Wilson from College of Wooster, Ohio.
Please visit the following link with the specimen:
http://woostergeologists.scotblogs.wooster.edu/2011/01/23/wooster%E2%80%99s-fossil-of-the-week-a-most-unlikely-clam-rudists-from-the-upper-cretaceous-of-the-oman-mountains/
I asked Mark Wilson and he told me the rudist is his.
I hope this helps to decipher it.
Best,
Consuelo

So Wikipedia holds the answers after all?!
Think I need to investigate how this image came to be on our database. Glad to have its ID confirmed by you guys though, thanks Nigel.
Best wishes,
Emma

It looks like a rudist bivalve to me. Interestingly, that same image is on the wikipedia page for Rudist bivalves.....
