- letterati e letteratura

1000 - max. 2500 battute) a
[log in to unmask] entro il 28 febbraio 2016.

Tutti i contributi verranno sottoposti a
referaggio (in doppio cieco).

culture, and thus the “Europa delle Corti” study center and the
Accademia Nazionale Virgiliana jointly propose a conference on Gonzaga
Women at Court.

We are pleased and would like to invite scholars to submit paper proposals.

The conference will explore the political role of the Gonzaga women as
well as their influence on the political agenda, their government styles
and personalities.

The main areas of focus are (but more could be suggested):

- Courts and ceremonies

- Government and the affairs of state

- Biographies and marriage strategies

- The arts, music and pageantry as part of court magnificence
(including patronage of writers and artists)

- Texts: treatises, correspondence and reports (written by them or sent
to them)

- Literature and men of letters

relating to both the main and the secondary Gonzaga family branches, and
both the women married into the Gonzaga family or the Gonzaga women
married into other dynasties.

Anyone interested is invited to submit a synopsis of the paper proposal
(min. 1000 - max. 2500 characters) to [log in to unmask] by
February 28, 2016. The committee will evaluate the proposals and will
follow up with the authors in a timely manner.

After the conference, the committee will collect the papers and create a
volume of the proceedings. The deadline for the final version of the
essays is January 31, 2017. All the essays will be blindly evaluated.
The committee will inform the authors of the outcome and will give the
necessary guidance and feedback for the editorial work.

All participants in the conference will be required to pay a ϵ50
