Hi Steve and the list,
I agree, I think the list is essential for Welsh libraries, for sharing messages and updates about things. Librarians are great at helping others and always respond well to queries about X or Y that are posted on such lists. LIS-WALES is a good facility to reach a number of different library staff across Wales, and I use it for that, but I think the perennial issue with many mailing lists is also using them for discussions on relevant topics. Are there others out there who want to discuss library matters on lists?
Yours
Alyson

Subject: FW: Running the JiscMail list - LIS-WALES Ticket Number: 00061321 [ ref:_00DU0IZ5Y._500U0RdFIG:ref ]
Dear LIS_Wales members
The LIS-Wales JISCmail list is back open.
It seems to be used and it seems to be helpful - but if that is not the case and/or it should be covered by other lists then we could still let it fade gently away.
However it seems to me that a list like this might become more useful and significant as challenges continue both across public and academic libraries©
Your thoughts welcome. On list of course©
Cheers
Steve
