The German Center for Vertigo and Balance Disorders (DSGZ) at the
Klinikum der Universität München invites applications for a
Young Scientist Group leader (three years)
for Technical Systems of Diagnosis of Vertigo and Balance Disorders
commencing in November 2016.
The successful candidate is expected to represent this field in research
and teaching at the University. The position will be part of the German
Center for Vertigo and Balance Disorders, an Integrated Center for
Research and Therapy, where the candidate will establish an
interdisciplinary translational research group on technical systems for
the examination and diagnosis of vestibular and ocular motor disorders
and will supervise the Technical Platform of the DSGZ.
Prerequisites for this position are a university degree and a doctoral
degree. In addition, the candidate is expected to have a record of
scientific and/or clinical experience in the application and development
of different methods of measuring perceptual, ocular motor and postural
function.
The appointment will be for three years. After a minimum of three years
it may be prolonged by two more years pending a positive evaluation of
the candidate’s aptitude for teaching and research as well as the
candidate’s pedagogical and personal aptitude if all conditions are met.
Candidates for this position should be with 2-7 years of experience
since completion of PhD. Exceptions thereto may be considered in the
case of outstanding candidates. The opening is equipped with funding for
one PhD position.
