The journal encourages pluralist forms of discourse, addressing current issues of theory and practice, being concerned with drawing as an interactive process and product, as a form of writing or visual narrative, as a model of representation; an investigative, descriptive or interpretive pursuit, a recording and communicative tool; an interactive and dynamic 'site of conception'; as performance, as support to critical thinking, an interpretative medium and as a site of production.

> D.R.T.P. invites practitioners, researchers, educators and theorists in the disciplines of fine art, architecture, design, visual communication, technology, craft, animation, etc. to contribute articles, projects, essay and papers that deal with the various knowledges and representations of drawing.

> We invite submissions for the Issue 2 of the Journal including: Articles (5000-6000 words); Research Projects (2000-3000 words); Critical essays (1500-3000 words); Profiles (1000-2000 words) Featured Drawings (1-2); Reviews (1000 - 1500 words) on the latest books, media, museum and gallery exhibitions, conferences, performance, educational and research projects and events that relate to drawing.

>

> Performing Drawology:

> The Gallery has been traced back to an open white space: a surface on which to draw and experience drawing.

> Over the course of one month eight artists have been invited to spend a period of time in the Gallery creating lines, marks and tones that explore and respond to the space through a variety of drawing processes. The work celebrates the expanded field of contemporary drawing and works with an expanded definition of drawing including: paper, performance, moving image, installation, projections and three-dimensional drawing.

>

> Selected artists are humhyphenhum, Lorraine Young, Catherine Bertola, Joe Graham, Andrew Pepper, Martin Lewis and John Court.

>

> The month started with humhyphenhum (Deborah Harty & Phil Sawdon), who were the first to enter the white space; drawing with paper and moving image to create a three-dimensional drawing that traced in, on and through the surface of the empty white space. Lorraine Young and Catherine Bertola followed last week, spending two days and three days respectively on the developing drawing. Week three saw contributions from Joe Graham, Andrew Pepper and Martin Lewis. This week John Court will enter as the final invited artist to spend three days drawing in the Gallery. Finally, humhyphenhum will return to the space to complete the drawing and prepare for a closing night celebration on Thursday 11 February, where visitors can view the final collaborative drawing.

>

> Visitors are encouraged to witness and engage with the exhibition as it continuously unfolds and takes form by visiting the gallery between 10am-5pm Monday -Friday and following the development of the drawing online through the project blog: https://performingdrawology.wordpress.com/
