For the moment yes, that would be the case.
The CASRAI group has been working on developing standards for DMPs though. They took the DCC Checklist for a DMP and the set of themes we use in DMPonline as a starting point.
David Baker, who is involved in the Research Data Alliance Active DMP interest group, is probably a good contact point to follow up with if you want to know more on this

This means, there would be two use cases for such an export:
* sharing/backup: export from one instance and import into another
* something readable for whoever wants to read it
I assume, there are no established standards, so this would be an ad-hoc solution for this dmp tool?
