Hi Pat,
Yes, I agree that they are very good. They were my favourite Text to Speech Mobile apps until I used Voice Dream. It is a little more expensive at £8 something but is available for Android and IOS. Do check it out,
Best wishes
Irene

Hi All
I have found the Claro apps from iTunes really good and easy to use too. There's a free app and paid versions - less than £3, which is amazing for what they can do.
Regards
Pat

Hi all,
Claroread is my preferred Text to Speech. I think it has overtaken Texthelp Read and Write in many ways. It does not require as powerful a computer to run properly and now has almost all features that Texthelp has. You can even extract highlights using Claro Capture.
We currently have a site license for Texthelp Read and Write but I am raising a discussion within the Edinburgh University about whether a site license for Claroread is more appropriate.
Best wishes
Irene

I have personally used ClaroRead. It is a very simple yet incredibly powerful tool. I used it so much when writing essays to find mistakes, in spelling and grammar. I only lightly touched on the mind mapping part of it, but found it easy and very intuitive to use. There are also a couple of very useful extras such as screen ruler ( if a student as problems keeping track of what they are reading) and ClaroView ( which can be used to put a tint on the screen.)
