Sportradar, the market leading supplier of sports and betting-related data services with more than 450 bookmakers as clients, is seeking a Risk/Data Scientist that will analyse the betting data in order to assess and manage the implied risk exposure.
Main Responsibilities:
• Create automated trading algorithms based on the betting volume and liability of our bookmaker clients
• Apply cluster analysis on the bettors and identify model deficiencies based on betting strategies
Other Responsibilities:
• Cleanse data and apply supervised/unsupervised learning methods to identify and interpret data patterns
• Document the process followed and report to the quant-team on work-flow
• Research new computational/statistical methods for future applications
• Collaborate closely with product developers/managers to move projects from idea to implementation
• Communicate with clients the key elements that govern the analysis
Essential Requirements:
• A postgraduate qualification (minimum 60%) in Statistics/Financial Mathematics or a closely related field with a strong quantitative component
• Advanced programming (Python, R, Java etc.) and Excel skills
• Experience with modern Machine Learning techniques for solving clustering and classification problems
Desirable Requirements:
• Good understanding of the betting industry
• Big Data analysis (Spark, Hadoop etc)
• Experience in Algorithmic Trading and Financial Modelling techniques
Personal Requirements:
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), another European language will be considered as a plus
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• General technical understanding and high interest in technical solutions
• Creative thinking, keen to further refine systems and processes
• Highly self-motivated, leading by example and enthusiasm
• Being a team player, with the ability to work with new teams immediately
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities as well as product environments and able to work to tight deadlines
• Patience, tactfulness, diplomacy and approachability
• Commitment to upholding the highest professional work standards and ethics
