Interesting question! Attention to detail has its pro's and cons... although details are key, especially in complex projects, you also need to keep an eye firmly on the bigger picture - being able to see how everything comes together and where the essential dependencies lie is essential. Another cataloguer attribute (or a good cataloguer's attribute!) is always keeping resource discovery / the user in mind - if a metadata element is not useful (whether for discovery or sustainability) then we should not be recording it. This has a parallel with project management in always keeping an eye on a project's end product, outcomes and continued business justification.
