Dear All,
Sorry to use the list again, but I had such an overwhelming response to my email about the letter that I can't reply to everyone individually. 175 people had signed by Friday evening, when I had to send the final list. Thanks very much to all of you, and apologies to the few people who emailed me too late to be included.
The letter should be in the Times on Monday. There is also a short paragraph about the letter on page 2 of today's Sun on Sunday. The headline is "Poor Show", and after summarising the government's plan it says "175 academics have written an open letter urging MPs to vote against the changes this week saying it is just a way to 'hide poverty from view'". (I think the quote came from End Child Poverty - it isn't actually in the letter! But I expect most signatories will agree that it's a pretty good summary of what's happening.)
End Child Poverty also tried to push the story to other newspapers, but Europe has clearly squeezed space for other things this weekend.
The Commons vote is expected to take place on Tuesday.
many thanks again - I really didn't expect to get such a fantastic response.
