All,
The Women’s Engineering Society delivers an outreach activity called Magnificent Women (and their flying machines) and for this activity we use 3-4 stixx machines to make the stixx with which we build aircraft wings (to replicate the work that women engineers did during WW1). As you may know stixx machines are heavy and difficult to transport and we are trying to get together a register of where other stixx machines are held (for example by STEMNET contract holders) so that we can borrow machines in the appropriate area rather than drive or courier our ones all around the country.
So, if you have any stixx machines and would be interested in lending these out to help with our outreach activity then please could you let us know.
And for anybody who wants to borrow stixx machines then we are based in Hertfordshire and are happy to lend these out to anybody who wants to deliver our Magnificent Women activity, or for any other purpose for that matter (as long as the machines are available). www.magnificentwomen.org.uk.
Best wishes
Dawn
PS These are stixx machines if you don't know what I am talking about. http://jeremykingengineeringinschools.co.uk/STIXX_Machines.php
