Hi Chris,
Tony Clarke had alerted me to this and the date is about right - the engine house is not on the 1881/2 OS map, but is on the 1907 edition. But I don't think this venture ever came to anything. I can find no other mention anywhere of East Wheal Eliza, and the Cornwall Record Office has a cost book for Boscoppa mine (not East Wheal Eliza) dated 1891-3.
Damian.

Hello Damian
From a Royal Cornwall Gazette dated 10th May 1888 it states that Boscoppa
Mine, St. Austell is about to be worked as East Wheal Eliza by Messrs.
Martyn.
Will try to see if I can locate any other info shortly
Regards Chris Kelland

Can anyone shed any light on the engine house at Boscoppa Mine, near St.
Austell in Cornwall - what it was, when it was erected, or who built it,
etc? If anyone has any knowledge of this engine and/or the mine I would
great appreciate hearing it - I have drawn a blank.
