Hi Mike
This is something that Europeana has been contemplating. Thus far we have used both our own custom platform (e.g. http://exhibitions.europeana.eu/exhibits/show/recording-and-playing-machines) and GCI (e.g. https://www.google.com/culturalinstitute/u/0/exhibit/photography-on-a-silver-plate/gQxWH0VE?hl). More examples of both (and other things from partners) via http://exhibitions.europeana.eu/. Our own platform is up fro redevelopment this year. I also know that Semantika, the developers of museu.ms, are looking at developing a platform.
On a related note, another interesting tool that I don't think has been mentioned here and that I'd personally like to explore more is https://storymap.knightlab.com/ Whilst suited to map-based exploration and storytelling, it can be creatively used for other purposes e.g. https://storymap.knightlab.com/examples/bosch-garden/
Of course any tool is just the start ...
Cheers, James

Hi all
Wondering what your favourite (museumy) sites are when it come to using
objects in a rich, highly curated, story-telling kind of way?
Obviously the Wellcome Collection "Digital Stories" are on the list (
http://digitalstories.wellcomecollection.org/) - but what others?
cheers!
Mike
