At Sussex we are reviewing our policies and procedures relating to entry to the library using a day pass and borrowing items with no formal university or ID card.
To enter the library, users either use their university ID on the gate, or they can obtain a day pass from a self-service kiosk which provides reference services only.
First question: If your library uses a card entry system, how many 'cardless' visits can a user have (day/week/month/year) before they cannot enter, without using proper university ID.
Second question: Does your library routinely let users issue items without using their library/ID card. If yes, what sort of ID would you expect to see, day-pass, other ID.
Will circulate a summary in due course
Thanks
Sean
