*AIBR Conference. Call for Papers*
*Youth Migration in times of crisis*
Barcelona. 6th-9th September 2016
Mobility has become one of the buzzwords in current political discourses
regarding solutions for youth unemployment, especially in times of crisis.
Mobility can be understood in the strict sense of being ready to move to
another place looking for better job conditions, or in the broader sense of
being active and on the move: by being physically active, by investing in
education, or by becoming an entrepreneur.
What policy makers understand as a mobility experience is considered to be
a migration process for those young people who had to leave their country
looking for better job conditions. This contrasts to "immobile" young
people who lack drive and are therefore victims of self-inflicted
unemployment or precariousness.
We are calling for papers to create a Panel at the AIBR Conference
“Puentes, Umbrales y Muros” [Bridges, Borders and Walls] (
http://2016.aibr.org/es/) to discuss Youth Migration, especially from the
South Europe to Northern countries and in a context of economical crisis,
but not exclusively to. The Conference will take place the 6th-9th September
2016 in Barcelona (Spain).
