In the Sackler Laboratory for Astrophysics (Leiden, the Netherlands)
a vacancy for a 4 yrs PhD research project on (non)energetic processing
of interstellar ice analogues has become available.
We are looking for an enthusiastic student with hands-on experience
in UHV techniques, surface diagnostics (RAIRS/TPD), mass spectrometry
and molecular spectroscopy, to work on a project aiming for solid
state reaction schemes leading to molecular complexity in space.
The Sackler Lab (www.laboratory-astrophysics.eu) is an integral part
of Leiden Observatory. Experiments are performed in close collaboration
with observers and modelers and form the base to understand pathways
towards molecular complexity in space.
This junior research position is funded with a full salary for
4 years (up to 2,779 euro gross (taxable) per month in the
final year) and supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8% and
an end-of-year bonus of 8,33%. The position is completed with
the defense of a PhD thesis.
