Can I throw in a pointless and unhelpful suggestion?
David Cameron and George Osborne would make great bacteria. They certainly give lots of people gut ache.
But less partisan, of there are no instant volunteers, what about local schools? Local drama colleges? Universities even?
I know an Edinburgh bioengineering prof – probably already on your list of contacts – who may have biddable students.
But as you say short notice.
Sounds like fun.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] ANTIBIOTIC APOCALYPSE FILM. Help needed from Edinburgh based Microbiologists / Scicomm-ers
Hello,
Apologies for the very short notice.
I am a very crazy microbiologist from Edinburgh who is very passionate about antibiotic resistance and gut bacteria. I have been developing several apps for school classrooms to educate on this issue.
To engage young adults (15-26) with the problem of antibiotic resistance we are shooting an immersive dance / combat film next Sunday (Feb 7th) at Edinburgh Summerhall. The film is called Antibiotic Apocalypse.
The film is being shot and produced by my good friends, BAFTA nominated production company Little City Pictures and directed by another talented friend, Siam Colvine.
We are looking for cameos to act as 'bacteria' in the scenes. This would involve wearing a personalised t-shirt with unique make up styling.
If you are interested in the role (or project) please email:
Myself (Carla Brown): [log in to unmask]
Siam Colvine ([log in to unmask])
We are really excited about this project and can't wait to see the result of our collaboration.
Best,
Dr Carla Brown
