Dear Colleagues,
Abstract submission is now open for the 2016 Goldschmidt Conference Yokohama, Japan, June 26th - July 1st, 2016.
Info at: http://goldschmidt.info/2016/
We would like to invite colleagues to Session 6e: Integrated fault zone investigations – constraining fluid origin, timing and thermal reactivation histories of deformation zones.
Keynotes: Giulio Viola (NGU) and Andreas Mulch (BI-K Frankfurt)
Recent progress in detailed characterization of deformations zones from the Neo-Proterozoic to Cenozoic comprises geochemistry, stable isotopes, geochronology, thermochronology and structural geology. Integration of methods enables to decipher and constrain timing of deformation zone and supplementary geochemical fingerprinting of involved fluid sources, potential reactivation and thermal history through geological time. Of increasing importance is an enhanced understanding of origin of involved fluids ranging from meteoric to deep formational fluid sources, their pathways in the shallow crust and different geotectonic settings. This session aims to invite contributions focusing on deciphering, quantification and advancement of the formation, characterization, reactivation and thermal history of deformation events using isotope dating, clumped isotopes, thermochronological and geochemical tracing methods of complex geological deformation phenomena.
The abstract submission deadline is February 26th.
Best wishes and apologies for cross-postings.
