Research Associate (Qualitative Research) for NIHR HS&DR study
University of Manchester, Centre for Primary Care
Closing date : 08/02/2016
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic qualitative researcher to work on the DEPEND study which will investigate whether the collection, analysis and use of patient experience data can be improved using digital methods. We will use qualitative methods to co-design (with patients and staff) new and effective ways to collect patient feedback (including stories of experience) in a timely way. The project will focus on services for mental health and musculoskeletal conditions. We will also work with multi-disciplinary researchers including computer scientists, health economists and clinicians. New tools developed within the first phases of the project will then be implemented and evaluated (using qualitative methods) in multiple NHS settings, including primary care, outpatients and community mental health services.
You will have a PhD in social sciences or health related using social science methodology; you will also have previous experience of conducting, analysing and writing up qualitative research independently. Experience of conducting research associated with mental health plus a proven and consistent track record of productivity, including recent publication of research papers in international peer-reviewed journals is also essential.
